Formerly, Ambassador of India in Lebanon, Greece and
Bulgaria. Also served as Ambassador to 6 African countries, (Somalia, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Niger, Liberia and Sierra Leone-five concurrently)
Earlier, Assistant Professor of Political Science, Allahabad University (1959), worked in East Asia, West Asia, East Europe, Policy Planning and Administration Divisions of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi at various times. Minister, Embassy of India, Bonn, West Germany(1978-81), Counselor, High Commission of India, London(1974), Consul of India in New York(1968-71) and Press Secretary, Embassy of India Moscow(1962-63).
Attended several Lectures/Seminars/Conferences on National and International Affairs in India, Oxford, UK, Vancouver, Canada and Vladivostok, Russia, during 1995 to 2003.
